About the Scarlet Spurs Creators:

Roger Van Doorene was born in South Africa.
At the age of 12 he broke his first pony. At 16 yrs Roger captained the South African Invitational Schools Team to The All England Show JumpingChampionships at Hickstead, England. Roger evented for four years on anational basis. He’s competed and produced several Grand Prix horses in South Africa.
Roger immigrated to the USA from South Africa in 1995. In and amongst all, Roger was the Ad Man for one of the biggest beer products in South Africa … Castle Lager. He has owned his own sportswear line, was a freelance photo/sound journalist for the BBC in South Africa’s highly troubled political arena.
Roger moved to Nashville in 2002 after having lived in Los Angeles for six years were he trained with fellow Polish Grand Prix Jumper George Tsjarcheck – while keeping a hectic schedule in the Entertainment business in Event Production for high end celebrity clients. Since then he has been a mentor and trainer.
He is committed to helping individuals reach their dreams in the world of Show Jumping and Equestrian Sports.

Kathy Haggard is a long time resident of Nashville, TN.
She has owned horses since 1976 and competed on the Hunter Circuit in the Middle Tennessee area from 1976-1983. She is currently a member of the Hillsboro Hounds. She and her husband own four thoroughbred hunters and a very talented hunter-jumper pony, Rosie. She lives on a nine acre farm in Williamson County, TN.
Her husband’s family has been involved with the thoroughbred breeding and horse show industry for several generations. Her father-in-law was the well-known Olympic Equestrian, Billy Haggard. He bred, trained and showed one of USA’s most famous Olympic Horses, Bold Minstrel, who is the only horse both currently in the Hunter Hall of Fame and the Show Jumper Hall of Fame.
She spent many years riding and hunting with Billy, prior to his death, and has an insider’s knowledge of the horse world that few people ever see.
